Our story
Bearpaw River grew out of the Valley, built around fresh beer, local identity and a family connection to Wasilla.

The roots
Bearpaw River's early story centers on brothers Jake, Jed, Jack and James, who grew up in the Mat-Su Valley and built a brewery around the place they knew best.
Public reporting from Bearpaw River's early years dates the first beer flowing from the brewery to December 2015.
Frontiersman IPA and Mat Maid were among the beers that helped push Bearpaw into packaged cans and wider Alaska distribution.
The original Palmer-Wasilla Highway taproom and the Railroad Avenue brewery and kitchen now give Bearpaw two distinct homes in Wasilla.
The Valley in every beer
Frontiersman. Hatcher Pass. Railroad. The Bearpaw River identity has long pulled from the Mat-Su landscape, local history and the culture around it.
